Lab-Grown Meat Is Set To Hit American Restaurants in 2023
Once the stuff of science fiction, lab-grown meat could become reality in some restaurants in the United States as early as this year.
In November of 2022, the FDA approved the nation’s first ever lab-grown product by Upside Foods, saying that their product line is safe for human consumption.
Just one country, Singapore, has so far approved the product for retail sale. But the United States is poised to follow.
UPSIDE is now hoping to bring its product to restaurants as soon as 2023 and to grocery stores by 2028,
Surely this has nothing to do with Biden signing an EO that includes the boost of lab-grown meat. Also last year the UK opened what is being touted as the “largest cultivated meat plant in Europe.” The Netherlands has also been directly funding this industry; the same can be said for Israel as well.
